The two main differences between breeder battery cage and other cage system is that there is a moveable belt on the floor of the cage that is covered with litter, and secondly the system allows egg that are hatching inside the container, the hatching eggs are suspended in a tray above the belt, and as the chicks’ hatch they drop onto the litter belt below.
